3 Steps to Your First eBook

Deciding how to deliver great content to your peeps can take some time. There are seemingly endless options; blogs, eBooks, website copy, video, audio recordings, challenges and more. The whole process of content creation can be overwhelming to the point of inertia.

This blog post is going to walk you through the most important elements of eBook creation!

If you don’t have hundreds of pages of text to deliver…it might be for the best! A short, direct eBook that really speaks to the dilemma of your peeps is going to be an appreciated and practical resource. It will warm your potential clients to you and help seal the deal on your existing clients. But the first step in the creation of your eBook will settle that for you….

You need to

Ask Your Target Market

You probably have a bunch of awesome ideas. Scratch that – I know you have more awesome ideas than you sometimes know what to do with. If you don’t have a list of them somewhere, you should. These are your little gold nuggets and it’s super important to keep them stashed for when you need them.

The only challenge with your ideas is whether they are a perfect fit for the needs of your peeps in this moment and how they should best be delivered. What I mean is: Are you sure an eBook is what your peeps need?

The only way you will find out is by asking them. I always recommend to my clients that they conduct market research for several reasons. One of them is to find out what kind of free information your peeps want in terms of content and format. For example, my peeps love video content with printable step by step action plans that they can fill in. They like the content short and easy to understand – no jargon.

So you need to know – do your peeps want audio, video or written content. And what are they burning to know about. I bet you have the knowledge and information that they need.

Once this is all clear, step 2 is…

Write Your Content

I know this part will be easy for you. You are bursting with juicy goodness so I’m not going to linger on this part for too long. The thing I want to get to is the making it pretty part.
